Here, my Jalop friends, is the new Ford Focus:
Here's how Ford presented the Focus to us in 1992:
What happened? Where is this car? Why didn't we get this car? What on earth possessed Ford to produce, instead of this car, the car in the top pic instead? Why do automakers tease us with awesome concepts, and then turn around and give us 'meh'?

PS: As I'm sure you all already know, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is heaven. Just look at all those droolworthy cars that we should have been driving.

They already had the Ford Probe. Did you want another FWD boring coupe from Ford? It made much more sense as a hatchback.

Here's the original Mustang concept.

My friend, the 1992 photo was taken out of focus, I hope you kept the negatives.
I'll let myself out thanks.

"Focus is living sculpture. Its platform, an all-wheel drive Escort RS Cosworth Turbo, lends life of its own." ( http://www.carstyling.ru/ru/car/1992_fo… )
But it wasn't going to be a FWD.
It's a two seater roadster AWD. It could have been a lot of fun seeing how Ford envisioned the Miata.

Actually, I don't hate what we got instead.

The design was stolen!

How high was this car's designer when they drew it up?

Also note how the "C" on the rear vanity plate looks like it fell off.

maybe not now but the first focus was not bad, the second was ugly and the 3 is a very good looking car in hatchback form. well to me anyway.

I should have said that...the hatchback is nice. I'm not a fan of the sedan.

Is it really that bad? Kinda reminds me of this, actually:

Oh no, that's not a bad thing! Just finding it interesting how someone came up with such an unorthodox concept!

Well sorta, yes the second gen didn't have a hatch or wagon, but it was still ugly, don't mind the sedan 3 gen, but the hatch is nice.
I really hate the front end of the second gen. I hate the grill I hate the lights....

Now that you mention it, loos like that "S" is the next to go. LOL
Though, now looking at it again, the "F" appears to be out of plane as well, maybe it's a design aspect that looks better from straight on that we can't see in the other rear pic.

That looks like someone squished an Audi TT. Or maybe an odd looking new Beetle.
